Down a long and troubled road I walked for miles alone Far across the ocean blows A wind that carries on You lie, you cheat and steal the things you need from me I say It all comes back again Underneath the moon at night A light that shines before Going out and leaving me Stranded in the dark Far gone, but free I see the words eventually they read "this is all there was" All the things that you have known, will drift away In motion as it goes, and on and on for days It buries in your soul, and somewhere deep inside Every moment like a word, that's running out of time Settled here and in this situation Tell me who it was you were Or is this all a season that's been fading Even long before we'd learned Long before we're ever warned All the things that you have known, will drift away In motion as it goes, and on and on for days It buries in your soul, and somewhere deep inside Every moment like a word, that's running out of time

Looking back I never knew where to begin When we met you dug yourself deep in my skin I was waiting on someone else to come along Something that could pull me from Where I was and out in the unknown But I was younger then and I felt like somebody else Pushing back against the world I knew I'd never make it on my own Drifting out across a sea of changes Disappearing from the shore As the past recedes I see their faces Fading out and then they're gone From my thoughts Leaning in I make my way and close my eyes I guess it always made more sense to waste my time I sometimes recall how I felt before it all Long before it fell apart And in those days I never seemed to know Now I'm older now and I feel like somebody else Someone who might catch the wind Setting out for somewhere I belong Drifting out across a sea of changes Disappearing from the shore As the past recedes I see their faces Fading out and then they're gone From my thoughts

about

Recorded during various sessions over several months.

The general theme is a mix of alienation, the passing of time, death - and ultimately hope. The cover image was taken in November 2023 at the Grand Canyon.

The passing of time is difficult, and it's something we can't get back. As we move through different stages of life we come to points that allow us to look back and re-evaluate. People, relationships, places, feelings - all of those things change over a linear journey. Hopefully as a listener you'll get something out of these songs. The message is universal.

This record is meant to be listened to from start to finish; and in the order presented.
